This colour of the second day signifies new beginnings and growth. Hindus worship Goddess BrahmaCharini on Day 2. The name BRAHMA CHARINI means the one who practices devout austerity. She holds a rosery in her right hand and kamandala in the left hand. Lord Mangal the god of all fortunes is governed by then goddess.
Nine avatars of Durga worshiped during Navratri are Shailputri, Brahmcharini, Chandraghanta, Kushmanda, Skandmata, Katyayani, Kaalratri, Mahagauri ans Siddhidatri. According to scriptures, Lord Rama , the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu , was born on Ramnavmi.

LET US KNOW SOMETHING ABOUT CUSTOMS, TRADITIONS AND RITUALS OF NAVRATRI.
MAA BRAHMACHARINI
On The Second of day of Navratri , people worship Maa BRAHMACHARINI which is said to be the unmarried Avatar of goddess PARVATI and is known as the Symbool of wisdom and knowledge. BRAHMCHARINI stands for a devoted female student who only desire to marry Lord Shiva. Maa Brahmacharini is the symbol of love , loyalty wisdom and immense strength.
One can please the goddess with Mantra. " OM DEVI BRAHMCHARINYAY NAMAH" She was born in the HIMALAYAS. The goddess BRAHMCHARINI spent hundreds of years doing TAPA. According to hindu Mythology She was on diet of Bilva leaves for 3000 years while she prayed to lord Shiva.
PUJA VIDHI
Before commencing the puja, Devotees should take a bath then make an arrangement for her bath. The idol of Maa Brahmcharini is first washed with PANCHAMRITA - a mixture of five items used in Hindu Puja. Which usually comprises honey , sugar, milk , curd and ghee. Then offer Pan (Nagarvel leaves) and Supari (Betel nuts) to the goddess. For performing puja of goddess Maa brahmacharini , you need flowers, Roli, Axat and sandal wood. Then. Pray to the Navgrahas and your Ishtdevta while keeping a flower in your hand and chant the Mantra. Then sing the aarti of Maa brahmacharini.
